What order is a bathroom fitted in?
A bathroom refit works best when each stage is done in the right order. That keeps the job tidy and avoids finished work being disturbed later.
The usual order
Most jobs start with protecting the route in and out, isolating services, and removing the old bathroom. Once the room is stripped, the fitter can check the walls, floor, pipework and waste routes properly.
After that comes first fix work: moving or preparing plumbing, electrics, ventilation, timberwork, boards and any waterproofing needed around wet areas.
When tiling happens
Tiling usually happens after the room has been prepared and the main bath or shower tray position is set. The exact order depends on the products and layout.
A good fitter plans tile lines before fixing, because small details around windows, niches, trims and shower areas make a big difference to the finished look.
Second fix and finishing
Second fix is when the visible items are fitted: toilet, basin, taps, shower controls, screens, radiator, accessories and furniture.
The final stage is grouting, silicone, testing, cleaning and showing the customer how everything works.
